The community of Bellingen can celebrate today as their local Lucky 7 convenience store has just taken out the “Store of the Year” award at the recent Lucky 7 Gala Event, held on the Gold Coast 16-17th July. The event was attended by over 200 members and guests from around the country, including Andrew Reitzer (CEO Metcash) and Peter Dubbelman (CEO Campbells Wholesale). Special guests, Tim Slade, Shane van Gisbergen & Alex Davison from Stone Brothers Racing were in attendance for the Gala Dinner to see Lucky 7 Bellingen owners Shane & Julie Capararo take out the prestigious Store of the Year Award.
Shane attributed his win to the work, effort and dedication of his staff and the support of his local community. “This is for all of our staff and customers, and a vote for the independence convenience channel” Mr Capararo said.
Mr Capararo went on to say that while the $5,000 prize money was a nice incentive and reward, the Lucky 7 brand is all about independents working together as a network and helping each other out, which was demonstrated with a donation of $1,000 of Mr Capararo’s prize money to the Grantham Lucky 7 members Mick and Sandy Halliday as they re-build their business and community.
The region can be proud of it’s achievements with Ron & Sue Vaughan of Lucky 7 Sawtell also taking out a finalist award in the same
